Kembara Santun Ummah is a notable humanitarian project aimed at improving the lives of the poor and underprivileged Muslim community in Sabah, Malaysia. The project, now in its third series, addresses a range of critical issues faced by this community, including limited access to healthcare, the financial burden of circumcision, and challenging socio-economic conditions. It is organized by UMission for Peace, a non-profit organization committed to fostering peace and well-being through humanitarian efforts. The financial cost of circumcision can be a significant burden for many families in the Sabah Muslim community. Kembara Santun Ummah seeks to alleviate this burden by organizing mass circumcision events, ensuring that young boys can undergo this culturally significant procedure without imposing financial hardship on their families. Almost 400 children has been circumcised during each mission.
One of the most pressing needs for these families is access to nutritious meals. This project addresses this issue by distributing food parcels to needy families, helping to alleviate food insecurity and malnutrition in the community. This initiative has benefits almost 400 families during each mission where each family usually consist of father, mother and 2 children.
The provision of free medical screening is one other initiative in Kembara Santun Ummah. General check-ups, medications, and health education are provided, improving the overall health and well-being of the community. More than 100 beneficiaries received this free medical screening.
